This past Wednesday (May23), we visited with Rob and Edie, asking them to share about their 20+ years of serving the poor. I’ve known they have a real heart for people, but they’ve taken a lot of risks for other people that have often paid off. You should ask Rob and Edie about the 17 people they fit in a two-door car once.
Rob and Edie rock. Plain and simple. There is plenty that we can learn from them and I really just enjoyed hanging out with them. At the last minute I also got to hang out with Mike Bradfield, Gabriel and their friends after group. Gabriel, Rob and Edie’s son has a lot of knowledge about the poor of Arlington and I’ve invited him to talk to our group. I hope he takes me up on it. In the end, I’m sure Rob and Edie’s story will be a significant help in shaping our thinking about how we do these things.
