The Unique Challenges of Arlington’s Disabled

On May 16, Jenni, Rich and I hung out at Arlington’s main public library downtown. The main goal was to review some documents the city of Arlington has made available regarding the city’s housing situation. It’s still a lot to process, but there are a couple of very helpful maps and demographic summaries. (More on that later.)

We also spent a good amount of time listening to Jenni regarding her advocacy for the disabled. She was among a group of people that once took Ft. Worth city council members on the city streets in wheelchairs so they could understand the need for good sidewalks. I can’t imagine what it is to have to make use of a wheelchair regularly, but I’m hoping we can learn more.
