About
In Spring 2007, a handful of friends started to meet together to and try to better understand the needs of the poor, the homeless and the people that were marginalized by society. Throughout this summer we tried to listen to people in these groups, listen to faith groups that serve them and do projects that helped us understand the complex needs that still exist.
We had two goals:
- Many of us had personal passions (HIV/AIDS, orphans, kids in broken homes, those without homes, single mothers) and this group was supposed to help them take a step forward in serving people in these situations.
- Most of us were spending our time as part of a community of faith (Mosaic Arlington) and we wanted to help this group focus its efforts in ways that produce lasting impact and call even more people to action
Anyone who wanted to could jump in on our adventures. Check out the main page for stories from those learning experiences. I don’t know that we did anything profound, but we did build a good foundation for later efforts we would take in different areas.
